The solar industry will continue to grow, and the demand for solar is likely to outpace how quickly the industry can hire, train, and implement a skilled workforce. But, as technologies continue to improve, there is increased opportunity for solar software products to offset this impending gap.
Aurora’s goal is to empower a future of solar for all, and Aurora AI will have a substantial impact on making that goal a reality, significantly influencing how solar systems are sold and designed. Our primary focus in the short term will be to make meaningful advances for both speed and accuracy. In the longer term, we’ll explore new and different ways to apply AI to the most significant solar sales and design problems. Some near-term improvements and projects we’re excited to share with you include:
- Applying improved land parcel data to improve automatic identification of property boundaries
- Updating the US LIDAR database with the most recent and high resolution data available
- Increasing model training efficiencies and accuracy by consuming more training data faster
- Expanding Aurora AI’s capabilities to more markets outside of the US
- Exploring and investing in more solar sales- and design-specific AI use cases
